Contractor Registration

If you are a California contractor who works with or around asbestos, or if you are a California employer whose employees may work with ACM, you may be required to register with the state of California. Contractors who are required to register will also have to complete asbestos licensing requirements designated by the Contract State License Board. Employers who will be performing work on their own property still have to register, even though they are not subject to the licensing board requirements.

Any person who contracts to provide consulting activities relating to asbestos-containing construction material greater than one hundred square feet must be certified. In addition, employers or contractors must send notification at least twenty-four hours prior to each asbestos job, regardless of the amount of material to be removed.
