Employer Responsibilities
Employers have the duty to make their workplace as safe as possible for employees. In this section, we will discuss some of the responsibilities that employers have in ensuring minimal risk of bloodborne pathogen exposure. In order to minimize workplace exposure to bloodborne pathogens, employers whose employees might be at risk to exposure must create and implement an Exposure Control Plan. This plan must list all job classifications in which some or all of the employees are at risk for exposure, and all of the specific tasks that could put those employees at risk.
