Ventilation
Hazardous concentrations of benzene can develop quickly in enclosed, poorly-ventilated, or low-lying areas, so it is important to keep out of these areas and stay upwind. Benzene should be stored in tightly closed containers in a cool, well-ventilated area where all sources of ignition are controlled. Smoking must be strictly prohibited in areas where benzene is used or stored.
