Work Practices
Though engineering controls can help reduce the amount of cotton dust in the air, certain work practices can further reduce employee exposure to cotton dust. Employers are required to set forth a work practice plan, but it is up to workers to ensure that this plan is followed. In this section, we will detail some work practices required by 8 CCR 5190 that can help lower the risk of overexposure to cotton dust.
