Training
Any workers who are at any time exposed to lead at the action level of 30 micrograms per cubic meter of air must be given lead exposure training by an accredited training source. This training must include the following:
- A copy of 8 CCR 1532.1 and its appendices
- The nature of work that could result in exposure
- The purpose, selection, fitting, and limitations of different types of respirators
- The health hazards of lead exposure on the reproductive system, kidneys, brain and central nervous system, and blood
- A description of the medical surveillance and removal programs, which we will discuss in detail later
- The engineering and work practice controls in place to limit exposure
- The contents of the compliance program
- The location of regulated areas
- The employee's right to access records, which we will discuss next
