Instruments
Industrial lift trucks and tractors offer a variety of instruments on the dashboard instrument panel, such as:
- Oil pressure gauge: indicates the oil pressure inside the engine
- Temperature gauge: indicates the temperature of the engine
- Transmission temperature: indicates when the transmission temperature is too high
- Fuel gauge: shows the amount of fuel remaining
- Hour meter: records the number of hours a truck has been used
- Battery discharge indicator: shows when the battery charge is low on electric forklifts
It is important that operators are familiar with each of the warning lights and gauges on the dashboard. Never operate a forklift if a warning light or gauge signals an unsafe condition.
