Exceptions

There are some exceptions to the standard, however. They are as follows:

  • Retail facilities
  • Oil or gas well drilling or servicing operations
  • Normally unoccupied remote facilities
  • Hydrocarbon fuels used solely for workplace consumption (if such fuels are not a part of a process that contains another acutely hazardous chemical)
  • Flammable liquids that are either stored in atmospheric tanks or transferred, that are kept below their normal boiling point without chilling or refrigeration, and that are not part of a process
