Hot Work Permit
Employers must obtain a permit for hot work operations conducted on or near any process covered in the PSM program. The permit must document that fire prevention and protection requirements have been implemented prior to beginning the hot work operations. The permit must indicate the dates authorized for the hot work, and identify the object on which the hot work is to be performed. The employer must keep the permit on file until the completion of the hot work.
