Respiratory Protection Program Evaluation Process

Ongoing evaluation of the respiratory protection program should include regularly scheduled evaluations. In addition, healthcare workers should be encouraged to share concerns and feedback at any time. In general, an effective program evaluation process involves the following steps:

1. Verify that no feasible alternatives to using respirators exist.
2. Conduct regular evaluations of respiratory hazards in the workplace.
3. Encourage worker involvement in the process of reviewing and updating the respiratory protection program.
4. Make adjustments to the program based on the program evaluation.
