Step 7 - Conduct an Ongoing Evaluation of the Program
The respiratory protection program must include provisions for program evaluation to take place on an ongoing, scheduled basis. Specific policies and procedures to ensure that this regular evaluation takes place must be included in the written plan to confirm that the program is functioning effectively. Keep in mind the difference that we discussed earlier between scheduled evaluations and as-needed reevaluations of hazard levels. In addition to providing guidelines regarding the evaluation of the respiratory protection program, the written plan should also explain when the facility may be required to perform a reevaluation of the hazard levels themselves.
