California Senate Bill 1343 Requirements
Senate Bill 1343 (SB 1343) is a 2018 California bill that became a law which went into effect on January 1, 2019. The law extends current mandatory sexual harassment prevention training and requires all employees (not just supervisors) of businesses with five or more employees to undergo training.
SB 1343 required the following be completed:
- Two hours of sexual harassment prevention training for supervisors
- One hour of sexual harassment prevention training for all non-supervisor employees
- Posting the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing (DFEH) poster
- Posting the Transgender Rights in the Workplace poster
- Posting the federal Equal Employment Opportunity poster (for employers with 15 or more employees)
- Distributing a pamphlet regarding sexual harassment to all employees
