Filing a Sexual Harassment Complaint through the DFEH or EEOC

You may also file a complaint through the DFEH or EEOC.

The DFEH requires you to first fill out an intake form. You will need to speak to a representative to determine if the incident meets the requirements needed to warrant a case. You can contact a representative via phone, email, or letter to begin this process.

The EEOC process is similar. You must contact the EEOC to schedule an intake interview. You can do this by calling, logging on to the EEOC Online Portal, visiting a local office, or sending a letter.

Address: Visit EEOC- online complaint page for details regarding the letter's contents and address where you should mail the letter. Remember to sign the letter or the EEOC will not deem it official.

Please note that you can also use a separate form to notify the DFEH if your workplace does not have appropriate sexual harassment prevention training. This form is available online.
