Required Postings - Pamphlet
In addition to the written policies on sexual harassment prevention, your workplace must have a sexual harassment pamphlet. The sexual harassment pamphlet employers must distribute should include the following:
- That sexual harassment is illegal
- The definition of sexual harassment according to both state and federal laws
- A description of sexual harassment (with examples)
- The company's internal complaint process
- The support provided by the DFEH (including their complaint process)
- Contact information for the DFEH
- The protections in place for those who contact the DFEH and place a complaint
Distribute this "in a manner that ensures distribution to each employee." This could be giving the employee the pamphlet when they are hired, or handing it to them along with their first paycheck, or giving it to them when they first arrive for orientation. For independent contractors, consider giving it to them upon hiring or with the first payment, if payments are made within a timely manner from the first day of employment.
