Harassment Training
Remember the following requirements regarding harassment training:
- Training includes all employees, even seasonal and temporary workers (hired to work for less than six months) or part-time workers.
- Training for seasonal or temporary workers must occur within 30 days of hiring or 100 hours worked (whichever comes first).
- Training must occur within six months of hire or promotion and then take place every two years from the day training ended.
- Training in multilingual workforces must take this into account and provide materials that all employees can understand.
- Employers and supervisors located outside of California but working with employees in California must undergo training.
- Supervisors who underwent training from another company within the last two years need not undergo training again if they are hired with your organization. However, since you do not know the contents of the other training, it is prudent to have new supervisors undergo training. Additionally, all supervisors must be familiar with the company's specific anti-harassment and anti-discrimination policies.
