Centralized Information

When agricultural establishments employ their own handlers, these employers must ensure that certain information is displayed at a central location whenever any handler whom they employ is on the premises and a pesticide has recently been applied. The only exception to this requirement is if the handlers are all commercial pesticide handlers.

Before any pesticide application occurs, pesticide-specific application information, emergency information, and a pesticide safety poster must all be displayed at a central location at the agricultural establishment.

The pesticide-specific application information must include the following:

  • Location and description of the area to be treated
  • Product name
  • EPA registration number
  • Active ingredient(s) of the pesticide
  • Time and date when the pesticide is scheduled to be applied
  • Restricted-entry interval for the pesticide

The emergency information must include the name, telephone number, and address of the nearest emergency medical facility.

The pesticide safety poster must be either the WPS safety poster developed by the EPA, or an equivalent poster.
