Management of Universal Waste - Key Terms

Handlers of universal waste refers to a broad category of individuals involved in the generation or creation of universal waste; or the receiving, accumulation, and distribution of universal waste from others.

Universal Waste Rule refers to a rule developed by the EPA to encourage the generators of universal waste to recycle through the use of proper disposal methods for certain "universal wastes." To encourage proper disposal methods, the Universal Waste Rule eased the requirements for the transport, storage, and accumulation of universal waste.
