This individual, known as the emergency coordinator, is responsible for coordinating all emergency response efforts. The emergency coordinator must be completely familiar with all aspects of the contingency plan, the facility operations and activities, and the location and nature of the waste being handled. The emergency coordinator must also know the location of all records and the facility layout, and must possess the authority needed to commit resources to carry out the various activities of the contingency plan.
