Detection, Compliance, & Correction Programs

In a manner similar to that of groundwater monitoring requirements, 40 CFR 264, Subpart F, outlines the minimum responsibilities of an owner or operator required to establish detection monitoring, compliance monitoring, and corrective action programs. The EPA regional administrator sets the specifics of what must be detected, complied with, and corrected based on the characteristics of the waste, the surrounding area, and the groundwater present. It is the owner or operator's responsibility to take action as specified by the EPA regional administrator.
