Post-Emergency Procedures
At the conclusion of the emergency event, the emergency coordinator is responsible for ensuring that all recovered waste and contaminated soil, water, or other material that results from the event is treated, stored, or disposed of. The emergency coordinator must also see to it that any equipment listed in the contingency plan is cleaned and then checked to make sure that it is still fit for its intended use.
The emergency coordinator must also take all reasonable steps to make sure that the type of emergency event does not occur again. All of these actions must be carried out before the facility's operations are resumed.
