Labeling & Marking Batteries

Special labeling and marking requirements apply to small-quantity handlers who handle universal waste batteries. These handlers are required to label or mark each universal waste battery, or a container holding the batteries, with one of these phrases:

Universal Waste - Battery (or Batteries)
Waste Battery (or Batteries)
Used Battery (or Batteries)
