Managing Rejected Shipments of Universal Waste
If a universal waste handler sends a shipment that is then rejected by the receiving handler or the destination facility, the original handler must take one of the following actions:
- Receive the waste back
- Agree with the receiving handler on a different facility that can receive the shipment
Similarly, a universal handler may reject a shipment of universal waste. In this case, the handler must take one of the following actions:
- Send the shipment back to the original handler
- Send the shipment to a different facility, if both the originating and receiving handlers agree upon it
