Used Oil Aggregation Points & Collection Centers
Used oil is collected at aggregation points and oil collection centers. Both the used oil generated by businesses and the used oil generated by do-it-yourselfers can be refined, reconditioned, or reprocessed to become usable again.
Aggregation points collect and store used oil that is generated by the owner of the aggregation point. Sometimes aggregation points accept oil from private citizens.
Typically, oil collection centers collect and store oil from multiple sources, such as household do-it-yourselfers and businesses. The following are different types of collection centers:
- Municipal DIY used oil collection centers
- Local or regional transfer stations
- Local or regional recycling facilities
- Service stations
- Auto repair shops
