The Biennial Report

The Biennial Report is a document that must be completed and submitted by a generator that is an LQG for at least one month of an odd-numbered year (reporting year) and that either treats, stores, or disposes of hazardous waste on-site or ships any hazardous waste off-site to a treatment, storage, or disposal facility within the United States. This report must be completed using EPA Form 8700-13 A/B. It is due to be submitted to the EPA regional administrator on March 1 of even-numbered years covering generator activities during the previous year. LQGs must report all of the hazardous waste they generate for the entire reporting year, not just the month(s) the generator was an LQG.

States may have more frequent or additional data-reporting requirements over and above those of the EPA, and may use a different, but equivalent, form to collect federal data and satisfy their own program data reporting needs.

The Biennial Form is not used for reporting hazardous waste that is exported. Instead, a separate annual report is required in accordance with 40 CFR 262.83.
