EPA Identification Number
As we discussed in the previous unit, no hazardous waste may be transported without an EPA identification number. Transporters may obtain the EPA identification number by completing and submitting the same form that generators use, the RCRA Subtitle C Site Identification Form (EPA Form 8700-12). A link to this form can be found under Additional Resources at the end of this unit.
An EPA identification number is issued to primary offices or places of business, not to individual transportation terminals. This is in contrast to the EPA identification numbers issued to generators, which are most often issued on a site-by-site basis.
