Distribution of the Contingency Plan
Copies of the contingency plan and any revisions to it must be kept at the waste facility. In addition, the owner or operator must submit copies of the plan to all local and state police, fire, and rescue teams who may be called upon in the event of an emergency.
The contingency plan must be updated in all of the following situations:
- The facility permit is revised.
- The plan fails in an emergency.
- The facility changes in a way that increases the potential for fire, explosions, or release of hazardous substances.
- The facility changes in a way that changes the necessary response (such as layout changes that would affect evacuation routes).
- The list of emergency coordinators changes.
- The list of emergency equipment changes.
