What Is Not Considered to Be a Miscellaneous Waste Unit?
Note that the following types of units do not fall into the category of "miscellaneous unit":
- Regulated units (which we have previously discussed in this unit), including containers, containment buildings, drip pads, land treatment units, landfills, surface impoundments, tanks, or waste piles
- Incinerators, boilers, and industrial furnaces (We will discuss hazardous waste combustion in Unit 9.)
- Corrective action managements units (CAMUs)
- Units permitted for research, development, and demonstration
- Underground Injection Control (UIC) program wells (Injection wells are wells that are used to inject fluid underground in porous rock formations for storage or disposal.)
