Compatibility Waiver
When hazardous materials shipped aboard the same military aircraft are not compatible according to Attachment 18 in Table A18.1 and or Table A18.2, a compatibility waiver is required. Any exceptions are listed in A18.4.
A shipper must submit a compatibility waiver request to the Service focal point (listed in 1.2.2) for approval. For Air Force aircraft, the major command (MAJCOM) with operational control of the aircraft during the mission has waiver approval authority.
Each service or MAJCOM has established policies and procedures for approving compatibility waiver requests. See 2.3.2.1 for Air Force approval authorities.
