Damaged, Leaking, or Improperly Packed
Any damaged, leaking, or improperly packed, marked, or labeled items or materials must not be shipped. It is the originator's responsibility to correct noncompliant packaging.
The originating shipping activity can provide the transportation function-necessary packaging to correct the shipment (within the capability of the transportation function), or correct the packaging on site.
The urgency of need must be considered when determining the best method for correcting a deficient shipment. The originating shipping activity is responsible for all costs related to correcting a shipment.
You must make sure that all applicable modal regulations (requirements for different forms of transport) are met when a shipment is offered for transport.
