Emergency Response
Emergency response information must be available at all times, including a 24-hour emergency response telephone number, always monitored by personnel who are knowledgeable with the hazards and characteristics of the materials being shipped.
This information is required if an emergency arises that involves the material. If this information is not available, the material cannot be offered for transport, accepted for transportation, stored, or otherwise handled (1.18)
DOT special permits 7573 (DOT-SP-7573) and 9232 (DOT-SP-9232) must be used, as required, for AMC contracted commercial cargo airlift as outlined in Attachment 23 (1.19).
During exercises, hazardous materials should not be air transported, solely to demonstrate the ability to move those materials, if no operational use is planned at the deployment location. Inert materials should be substituted for those hazardous materials, when possible (1.20).
