Excepted Quantities
A19.2.2 outlines the maximum net quantity for Excepted Quantities. Table A19.1 shows the maximum net quantity of hazardous material allowed in each inner packaging and the total net quantity allowed in each outer packaging.
Once you have determined a hazardous material qualifies as an Excepted Quantity (A19.2.1) then check Table A19.1. If the quantity limitations of Table A19.1 are exceeded, then the material must be prepared according to the requirements for that material and not as an excepted quantity.
Refer to the notes following the table for more details.
Inner packagings must be plastic (minimum thickness of 0.2 mm), glass, earthenware, or metal. They must not react with, or be decomposed by, the hazardous material contained in them.
