Large Packaging & Hazardous Substances
Table A14.2 covers Large Packaging UN Specification Marking Codes and Sequence of Instruction. This was included in the latest update of AFMAN 24-604 to add information specifically for large packagings.
A14.3.2 covers hazardous substances. Check Attachment 1 for a definition of hazardous substance. Mark all packagings containing these substances with a RQ along with the PSN.
If the PSN does not identify the hazardous substance by name, then enter one of the following description on the package in parentheses following the PSN:
- The hazardous substance's technical name
- The waste stream number
- The text "EPA" followed by either "ignitability", "corrosivity", "reactivity", or "EP toxicity" as appropriate, or the corresponding "D" number as appropriate.
