Marking - Class 3

For Class 3 Flammable Liquids, mark the shipping container with the flashpoint.

For Class 5 Oxidizing Materials and Organic Peroxides, when shipping bromine pentafluoride or bromine trifluoride prepared according to A9.9 using an approved cylinder, mark the outside container "INSIDE CONTAINERS COMPLY WITH PRESCRIBED SPECIFICATIONS".

For chemical oxygen generators, refer to A14.4.4.2 for details on requirements.

For Class 6 Toxic (Poisonous) Materials and Infectious Substances, when shipping toxic (poisonous) materials permanently mark the outside plastic containers by embossing (or using other durable means) the word "POISON". The text must uses letters at least 6.3 mm (¼ inch) in height. The marking must be located within 16 cm (6 inches) of the packaging's closure. Additional text or symbols may be used in the marking.
