Marking - Class 6

For Class 6 Toxic (Poisonous) Materials and Infectious Substances, when shipping infectious substances mark the packagings with:

• The UN packaging symbol
• The text "CLASS 6.2"
• The last two digits of the year of manufacture of the packaging
• The State authorizing the allocation of the mark (such as USA)
• The manufacturer's name or registered symbol

On the outside of the package, the name and telephone number or a responsible person for the shipment must also be durably and legibly marked.

For packages containing UN 3373 or "BIOLOGICAL SUBSTANCE, CATEGORY B", refer to A14.4.5.3-4 for specific information.
