Marking - Identical HAZMAT on Pallet or Skid

Mark overpacks, which are generally made of wood or fiberboard, with the same information required by the manual for individual containers except for the UN specification markings.

You do not need to mark freight containers with PSN and UN number of the contents placed inside. However, the freight containers must be accessible (paragraph 1.13) and labeled to indicate hazard class division of the contents. For contents that are to be transported by cargo aircraft only, the freight container must be labeled as such, following Attachment 15. A marking board can be used instead of placing markings directly on the freight container.

Chemically contaminated cargo, shipped under the authority of 3.7, must be marked with "Contaminated - Do Not Open". Use any means that is visible and legible.
