Passenger Movement on Aircraft Transporting HAZMAT

Attachment 22 covers passenger movement on aircraft transporting hazardous materials. Table A4.1, column 7, lists passenger eligibility codes, which identify passenger movement restrictions on aircraft transporting hazardous materials.

Use Table A4.1 and A4.2 to determine passenger movement eligibility with a specific material.

Passengers cannot be transported on aircraft with cargo coded as "Cargo Aircraft Only", unless exempted by this manual. A passenger deviation must be obtained when required by this manual.

A22.1.3 details oxygen equipment and supply requirements on board aircraft when hazardous materials are transported.

A22.1.4 and A22.1.5 covers participants not considered as passengers, and medical evacuees, and releasing seats to non-participants.

Passenger deviations are detailed in A22.1.6.

If you are involved in the shipment of radioactive materials, read A22.1.7 on passenger restrictions related to the transport of radioactive materials.

Passengers on military aircraft cannot carry hazardous materials, other than the exceptions listed in A22.2.
