Placarding
Attachment 16 describes placarding the area surrounding aircraft transporting any hazardous materials, when parked according to Table A16.1 or Service directives.
If Service directives do not contain specific procedures for placarding, the guidance in A16.1 must be used. See A16.1.1 through A16.1.5 for specific details.
A16.2 covers the responsibility for placards. For non-military airfields, the agency responsible for delivering cargo to the aircraft or off-loading cargo is responsible for making arrangements with the airport manager for:
- Identifying cargo
- Isolating parking and loading
- Placarding
- Firefighting
- Disaster response
A description of placards is shown in Table A16.1.
