Stowage in Freight Containers
Hazardous materials shipped in freight containers must be stowed next to the container opening and positioned to allow access while on the aircraft.
The aircraft crew must be able to see and access all hazardous materials, to mitigate any hazard posed by an in-flight accident.
A key or combination must be provided to the aircraft commander or designated representative for unescorted, locked containers.
