Stowage of HAZMAT & Required PPE

1.8 provides information on stowage of hazardous materials for air transport.

Hazardous materials that could leak must not be stored on the same aircraft pallet with foodstuff, feed, or any other edible material intended for people or animals to eat. However, solid material, such as explosive articles, can be loaded on the same aircraft pallet based on operational requirements. If it is required by operational necessity to combine foodstuffs or MREs with hazardous materials, the list of requirements that must be complied with are found in 1.8.4.

1.9 describes required protective equipment. The shipper must determine necessary required protective equipment for the hazardous materials being shipped, and provide any special equipment required to meet unique cargo safety requirements, beyond what is listed in 1.9.
