UN Marking
The United Nations has created packaging specification markings, or those that identify the design or specification of a packaging (regardless of its use for a particular shipment such as contents, shipper information, and so on).
UN packaging specification markings are mandatory for all packages used to ship hazardous materials, unless exempted by A3.1.1 or a separate approval.
These markings can appear on one or multiple lines, as long as the information is presented in the required order and separated properly using spaces, slashes, and so on.
Table A14.1 shows what information is in including in a UN Specification Marking Code.
