Cargo Acceptance - Biological Substances, Category B

Biological substances, Category B, do not require a Shipper's Declaration or an acceptance checklist and may be accepted without further regulation unless specified by the operator. They must be packaged in compliance with Packing Instruction 650, which may be found in DGR Section 5.

Provided Biological Substances, Category B are packed in accordance with the requirements of Packing Instruction 650, no other requirements of the DGR apply except for the following:

  • Classification must be in accordance with the DGR
  • Incident reporting
  • Inspection for damage or leakage

If assistance is required interpreting the SDS, or there is concern regarding Biological substances, Category B, contact a person qualified in Dangerous Goods Acceptance.
