Cargo Acceptance - Handling Labels

The following handling labels may be required, as indicated in Subsection 7.2.4:

• Cargo Aircraft Only (CAO) labels are required for all packages containing dangerous goods that are permitted only on cargo aircrafts. They must be affixed near the hazard label on the same surface of the package.
• Cryogenic Liquid labels are required for all packages and overpacks containing cryogenic liquids, in addition to the Non-flammable Gas (Division 2.2) hazard label.
• Package Orientation labels are required to be used on combination packagings and overpacks containing liquid dangerous goods, with exceptions.
• Keep Away From Heat labels are required on all packages and overpacks containing self-reactive substances in Divisions 4.1 and 5.2. This label must be applied in addition to the applicable hazard label. These packages must be protected from direct sunlight and all sources of heat, and they must be placed in well-ventilated areas.
• Magnetized Material labels are required for all packages and overpacks containing magnetized material.
• Lithium Batteries labels are required on all packages containing lithium batteries that meet the requirements of Section IB of Packing Instruction 965 and 968 and of Section II of Packing Instructions 965 to 970.
• Battery-powered Wheelchairs or Mobility Aids labels indicate whether or not the battery has been removed from a battery-powered wheelchair or mobility aid. The label is in two parts. Part A remains with the wheelchair. If the battery has been removed, Part B is attached to the battery to reconcile the battery and its wheelchair.
