Cargo Acceptance - Limitations
Some dangerous goods can be transported by passenger and cargo aircraft, while other dangerous goods can only be transported by cargo aircraft. Additionally, some dangerous goods are too hazardous to be transported by any aircraft. The DGR establishes the limitations placed on dangerous goods that are allowed to be transported by air. States and operators can impose further restrictions, which are called variations.
Many dangerous goods may be carried on aircrafts as cargo as long as they are properly prepared for transport in accordance with the DGR. Subsection 4.2 List of Dangerous Goods provides a list of the most commonly shipped dangerous goods by name and indicates the maximum quantity permitted on passenger and cargo aircraft.
