Cargo Acceptance - Package Use Marking

Packaging use markings are those that identify the use of a particular packaging for a particular shipment. They may indicate the contents, consignor, and consignee. The shipper is solely responsible for these markings.

At a minimum, each package or overpack containing dangerous goods must be clearly marked with the following information:

  • The proper shipping name for each dangerous good
  • The applicable UN or ID number for each dangerous good
  • The full name and address of the shipper and the consignee
