Flight Crew & Load Planner - Excepted Quantities

Some types of dangerous goods may be transported in very small quantities as cargo only. They are exempt from the marking, labeling, and documentation requirements. Excepted quantities of dangerous goods are not permitted in or as checked or carry-on baggage, or in the mail.

DGR 2.6.2.2 lists the classes and divisions of dangerous goods substances that may be carried under the provisions for excepted quantities.

There are no shipping papers required, and they are not required to be shown on the Special Load - Notification to Captain (NOTOC). However, packages of dangerous goods in excepted quantities must use the Excepted Quantity Mark. The primary hazard class or division must be shown on the mark.
