Flight Crew & Load Planner - Notification - In-Flight Emergency
In the event of an emergency, the pilot-in-command is responsible for informing the appropriate air traffic services of the dangerous goods on board. This information should include the following:
- The proper shipping names or UN/ID number
- The class or division
- Any identified subsidiary risks
- The quantity and location on board the aircraft
If it is not possible to provide all the information, the pilot-in-command should use his or her discretion to provide the most relevant information for the circumstances, or the operator should provide a summary of the quantities and classification of the dangerous goods in each cargo compartment.
