Battery-powered Wheelchairs & Mobility Aids as Baggage

Battery-powered wheelchairs or other similar mobility aids for use by passengers whose mobility is restricted by a disability, their health or age, or a temporary mobility problem, may be permitted as checked baggage with operator approval as long they meet certain criteria. The criteria are based on the type of battery used.

The pilot-in-command must be notified that the wheelchair, mobility aid, or battery is onboard, along with its location. Passengers should make advance arrangements with the operator whenever possible.
