Incompatible Dangerous Goods - Explosives
Explosives are deemed compatible if they can be stowed together without significantly increasing either the probability of an accident or the magnitude of the effects in the event of an accident. The divisions of explosives are assigned to one of thirteen compatibility groups, designated with a letter. DGR Table 3.1.A lists the compatibility groups assigned to the divisions of explosives and a description of the article or substance. Explosives in any one compatibility group cannot be stored or transported with explosives in any other compatibility group, unless permitted in DGR Table 3.1.B.
Only explosives in Division 1.4, compatibility group S, are permitted to be transported on passenger aircraft. The only explosives permitted to be transported on cargo aircraft include Division 1.3, compatibility groups C and G, and Division 1.4, compatibility groups B, C, D, E, G, and S.
