Provision of Information
The operator is responsible for communicating information concerning dangerous goods that are to be transported on an aircraft to the pilot-in-command and any personnel with responsibilities for operational control of the aircraft. These personnel include flight operations officers, flight dispatchers, and designated ground personnel. The operator must communicate this information before departure.
The dangerous goods information must be accurate and either legibly written or printed. Generally, operators present this information on a "Special Load - Notification to Captain (NOTOC)" form. For helicopter operators only, if it is not practical to produce written or printed information, the information may be communicated to the pilot-in-command by other means, such as radio communication or on the operational flight plan.
