Different Dangerous Goods Packed in One Outer Packaging
Use the following steps when packing different dangerous goods in one outer packaging:
- Review the details of each dangerous goods item according to the List of Dangerous Goods.
- Ensure that the substances do not react dangerously with each other, and check that they do not require separation according to DGR Table 9.3.A.
- Refer to each applicable packing instruction and ensure that the inner packaging used is permitted, the maximum quantity limits for the inner packaging has been observed, and the outer packaging meets the requirements for each packing instruction.
- Refer to the List of Dangerous Goods and each packing instruction and determine the most restrictive packing group and the highest permitted net quantity per package.
- Ensure that the outer packaging does not contain an inner packaging of infectious substances with an inner packaging of other dangerous goods.
Follow the same steps for different dangerous goods packed in one limited quantity packaging, but refer to the applicable Y packing instruction and ensure that the maximum gross weight of any limited quantity package does not exceed 30 kg (66 lbs).
