Documentation
Accurate and complete transport documentation is essential for the safe transport of dangerous goods. The two main types of transport documentation are the Shipper's Declaration for Dangerous Goods (DGD) and the Air Waybill (AWB).
The shipper is responsible for providing the applicable information on the required documentation for consignment of each shipment of dangerous goods to the operator.
For each shipment, the shipper must ensure the following:
- Correct form is used in the correct manner
- Information on the form is accurate, easy to identify, legible, and durable
- The form is properly signed when the shipment is presented to the operator
- The shipment has been prepared in accordance with the DGR
The shipper must retain a copy of the Shipper's Declaration and any additional documentation specified for a minimum of three months. In addition, if the shipper uses any electronic documentation, the shipper must be able to reproduce the documents in printed form.
